Jyoti

She is one of the elder children in her family, residing at Trilok Puri in Delhi. Although she had to discontinue her studies due to poor financial condition, she always had a dream of completing her education and achieving something in life. In 2013 she got involved with Kanshiram Welfare Foundation and enrolled in the Adobe Youth Voices Program. AYV, a partnership of Adobe Foundation and American India Foundation empowers youth from the underprivileged communities to communicate and share their ideas using multimedia and digital tools. She performed well in the program and was encouraged to pursue her studies from where she had left. Since she wanted to study and obtain a Bachelor degree but didn’t want to pursue her school studies, she enrolled in IGNOU for the certificate course of Bachelor Preparatory Program after completion of which she could enroll for the Bachelor degree program. She acquired a job in the retail sector after completing her graduation. Today, she is a self-employed and independent girl and runs her own beauty parlour.

Rahul

Rahul being the eldest of his siblings had a lot of responsibilities. His family having migrated from Uttar Pradesh and living in Trilok Puri had minimum means for their survival. Rahul got involved with Kanshiram Welfare Foundation with the Adobe Youth Voices Program. AYV, a partnership of Adobe Foundation and American India Foundation, provided a platform for the youth of underprivileged communities to communicate and share their ideas using multimedia and digital tools. His interest lying in photography and video editing, he made four short films during the course of the program on varying issues such as child abuse, child rag pickers and environmental issues. He was highly dedicated and sincere towards his work. After completing his school education, he enrolled in the B. Sc. Program in IGNOU. Presently he has taken up professional photography and has developed a team of his own.
